PROMOTION OF CYPRUS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC AS AN INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL CENTER

With organizing a Business Forum in Prague the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Tourism of Cyprus continued their joint efforts to promote Cyprus as an international financial and business center.

The event was organized with the support of the Cyprus-Czech Republic Business Association, which operates under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Cyprus Trade Center in Vienna and with the support of the Czech Chamber of Commerce. Media sponsor of this event was the Gold Magazine.

The Forum scored big success offering to Czech entrepreneurs the opportunity to be informed about investment opportunities in Cyprus as well as about the cooperation prospects among the business people.

The participation of Czech lawyers, accountants and other businesspeople in the Forum proved the lively interest for developing cooperations with Cyprus and for using Cyprus as an intermediary for expanding their business activities to the Middle East as well as other European countries.

Presentations at the Forum included the advantages provided by the Cyprus Taxation System to foreign investors, the founding of Cyprus companies, the banking system of Cyprus and Cyprus as an international financial and services center.

In the course of the Forum, an invitation was addressed to the Czech Chamber of Commerce for a visit of Czech businesspeople to Cyprus and consultations for this will continue.

Representatives of the Cypriot delegation had a meeting in the Czech Senate with Mr Petr Pakosta, Senator for National Economy, Agriculture and Transport. Participating on behalf of the Cypriot side were the President of the Cyprus-Czech Republic Business Association Mr Vakis Loizou, the Vice-President Ms Melina Pyrgou and Mr Panayiotis Panayis, officer at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry. During the meeting the close economic ties of Cyprus and the Czech Republic were underlined and ways were discussed for further developments of economic cooperation.

Business Forum in Prague 19 October 2011

In its efforts to further promote Cyprus as an International Business Center in the Czech Market, the Cyprus-Czech Republic Business Association in cooperation with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism are organizing a Business Forum in Prague on Wednesday, October 19.

The aim of the Forum is to promote Cyprus as a regional as regional center of professional services and to present it as an attractive destination of investment opportunities. Participants in the delegation are entrepreneurs in the banking, financial and legal sectors and in Cyprus-Czech business cooperation.

The programme of the Forum was prepared in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Cyprus Trade Center in Vienna and also includes business to business meetings between Cypriot and Czech businesspeople, aiming at promoting mutual investments between the two countries.

Business Delegation from the Czech Republic visits Cyprus

Aiming to further promote, expand and encourage the bilateral economic and trade relations between Cyprus and the Czech Republic, the Cyprus-Czech Republic Business Association in close co-operation with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Nicosia organized business to business meetings between Czech and Cypriot businessmen at the premises of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The Czech companies work in the field of water treatment technology and wastewater cleaning. They provide marketing, manufacturing, sale and service of wastewater treatment plant cleaning systems.

Further to the Business Meetings the Czech companies had with Cypriot companies, our Association and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry arranged meetings with the Union of Cyprus Communities, the Sewerage Board of Nicosia and the Water Development Department.

Cyprus-Czech Business Forum in Prague (English Version)

With big success a Business Forum was organised in Prague by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Cyprus-Czech Republic Business Association in close cooperation with the Cyprus Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Tourism and the Czech Chamber of Commerce.

At the head of the Cypriot delegation was Mr Vakis Loizou, President of the Cyprus-Czech Business Association and participants included a big number of Cypriot entrepreneurs who had business meetings with Czech businessmen.

During the Forum, lectures were made and presentations of the tax and legal system of Cyprus and the advantages were stressed for foreign investments with interest for investments in Cyprus.

The close economic ties of Cyprus and the Czech Republic were underlined during the forum and the benefits of Cyprus were projected as an international economic centre with special reference to the prospects for broadening such cooperation.

With the opportunity of the mission to Prague, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the two business associations of Cyprus and the Czech Republic for promoting further strengthening of relations and continuing their close cooperation.

Επιχειρηματικό Φόρουμ Κύπρου – Τσεχίας στην Πράγα (Greek Version)

Πραγματοποιήθηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία το επιχειρηματικό φόρουμ που διοργάνωσε το ΚΕΒΕ και ο Κυπρο-Τσέχικος Επιχειρηματικός Σύνδεσμος σε στενή συνεργασία με το Υπουργείο Εμπορίου, Βιομηχανίας και Τουρισμού καθώς επίσης με το Εμπορικό Επιμελητήριο της Τσεχίας.

Επικεφαλής της αποστολής ήταν ο Πρόεδρος του Κυπρο-Τσεχικού Συνδέσμου που λειτουργεί στη δύναμη του ΚΕΒΕ, κ. Βάκης Λοϊζου και συμμετείχε μεγάλος αριθμός Κυπρίων επιχειρηματικών που πραγματοποίησαν επιχειρηματικές επαφές με Τσέχους Επιχειρηματίες.

Κατά τη διάρκεια του Φόρουμ έγιναν διαλέξεις και παρουσιάσεις για το φορολογικό και νομικό σύστημα της Κύπρου και τονίστηκαν τα πλεονεκτήματα των ξένων επενδυτών που επιθυμούν να επενδύσουν στην Κύπρο.

Στο φόρουμ τονίστηκαν οι στενοί οικονομικοί δεσμοί της Κύπρου και της Τσεχίας και τονίστηκαν τα οφέλη της Κύπρου σαν Διεθνές οικονομικό κέντρο καθώς επίσης και οι προοπτικές ενίσχυσης αυτής της συνεργασίας.

Με την ευκαιρία της επίσκεψης της αποστολής στη Τσεχία υπογράφτηκε μνημόνιο συνεργασίας ανάμεσα στους δυο επιχειρηματικούς Συνδέσμους της Κύπρου και της Τσεχίας με σκοπό τη σύσφιξη των σχέσεων τους και τη συνέχιση της στενής τους συνεργασίας.

Ιδρυτική Γενική Συνέλευση Επιχειρηματικού Συνδέσμου Κύπρου-Τσεχίας

Πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Μέγαρο του ΚΕΒΕ στην Λευκωσία  η Ιδρυτική Καταστατική Γενική Συνέλευση του Επιχειρηματικού Συνδέσμου Κύπρου και Τσεχίας στην οποία παρευρέθηκεαν επιχειρηματίες από όλο το φάσμα της οικονομίας της Κύπρου.

Η ίδρυση του Συνδέσμου εμπίπτει στα πλαίσια της προσπάθειας και της πάγιας πολιτικής του ΚΕΒΕ για προώθηση διμερών σχέσεων μεταξύ της Κύπρου και άλλων χωρών με σκοπό την προαγωγή, επέκταση και ενθάρρυνση οικονομικών, εμπορικών και επιχειρηματικών σχέσεων καθώς και την καλλιέργεια συνθηκών φιλίας και κατανόησης.

Σε ομιλία του ο Πρόεδρος του ΚΕΒΕ κ. Μάνθος Μαυρομμάτης αναφέρθηκε στους παραδοσιακούς επιχειρηματικούς δεσμούς που έχει η Κύπρος με την Τσεχία.  Επίσης αναφέρθηκε στις απεριόριστες ευκαιρίες συνεργασίας που υπάρχουν με Τσεχικές εταιρείες για προώθηση των υπηρεσιών και του εμπορίου μεταξύ των δυο χωρών.

Στη Συνέλευση ο Πρέσβης της Τσεχίας στη Λευκωσία κ. Jan Bondy υπογράμμισε τους σημαντικότατους επιχειρηματικούς δεσμούς της Κύπρου και της Τσεχίας κάνοντας ειδική αναφορά στο γεγονός ότι τα τελευταία χρόνια το εμπόριο μεταξύ Κύπρου και Τσεχίας έχει σημειώσει συνεχή και αλματώδη άνοδο.  Εξέφρασε επίσης την εκτίμηση ότι μέσω του Συνδέσμου θα είναι εφικτό  να επεκταθεί η συνεργασία των δυο χωρών σε χρηματοοικονομικό επίπεδο αλλά και σε εμπορικό, ενισχύοντας έτσι ακόμα περισσότερο τις εμπορικές σχέσεις μεταξύ τους.

Η Συνέλευση εξέλεξε σαν Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο του Επιχειρηματικού Συνδέσμου τους πιο κάτω:

Στα πλαίσια αυτά θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 3 Νοεμβρίου 2008 στο ΚΕΒΕ επίσκεψη πολυμελούς αποστολής Τσέχων επιχειρηματιών οι οποίοι θα έχουν συναντήσεις με Κύπριους επιχειρηματίες.
